Kenya’s biggest national park covering around 22,000 sq.km, located in Coastal Province, between Kenya’s biggest cities, Mombasa and Nairobi. Split into two parks Tsavo East to the North and Tsavo West to the South by Railway line from Mombasa to Kenya’s interior. The vast area is characterized by huge geographical contrasts from dry savanna plains, wet shrub-land, and wooded grassland to volcanic hills offering rich birdlife and wildlife exploration. Largest herds of elephants in Africa are found here, which normally dust bath around Galana River.

Tsavo East
Features

Generally flat with dry plains cut by River Galana. Yatta Plateau, world’s longest lava flow and Lugard falls flowing along Galana River are exceptional. Herds of red-dust elephants wander around the vast 13,747 sq.km. Located near Voi Town, South East Kenya and therefore ideal for both Safari and exotic beach vacation along the Coastal beaches.

Features

Smaller than Tsavo East covering 9,065 sq.km, the area is mountainous and wetter due to rich water sources from; swamps, Mzima Springs- four natural springs from Chyulu Hills and Lake Jipe. Birdlife in Chaimu volcanic crater which can be explored by foot is rich to crocodiles and hippos which can be observed from Mzima springs. Large animals i.e. black rhino, elephants, cape buffalo, Maasai lion, leopard, cheetah, Maasai giraffe and smaller animals i.e. hyena, jackals, antelopes, zebras, nocturnal bush baby can be spotted.
